DCI LOMOND CRIME THRILLERS
Shot through with dark Glaswegian humour and thrilling twists, I've tried to capture the voices of my beloved home city, taking you into its hidden depths, and the iconic hills and glens of nearby Loch Lomond and Arran.
If you like writers like Ian Rankin, JD Kirk, and Val McDermid, these addictive thrillers will have you gripped until the very end.
I recommend reading these in order.
DC MAIREAD MACLEAN MYSTERIES
Gripping mysteries set in the Hebrides, featuring the brilliant Detective Constable Mairead Maclean.
Mairead was born on South Uist in the Hebrides, and now works as a detective constable in Glasgow, having fled her home twenty-one years ago. Her empathetic nature stands in stark contrast to her more cynical, hollowed-out colleagues. Despite how long she’s been away from home, she remains deeply connected to the island’s culture.
In THE LONG ISLE, we follow her return to the islands, where she is immediately thrown into a murder investigation after a body is found on an idyllic Uist beach.
NOVAK AND MITCHELL THRILLERS
Conspiracy and political thrillers for fans of David Baldacci, Spooks, and Line of Duty.
This was the first series that really took off for me around 2020. They were so much fun to write, and I love that people are still discovering it. They seem to have a bit of an addictive quality. I just wrote a series that I wanted to read but hadn't found. Readers seem to appreciate something in their style.
At the moment, the series is finished at five books. But I might write another sometime in the future.
DUNCAN GRANT SPY THRILLERS
Even more action-based than the Novak and Mitchell series, this has lots of conspiracy and political elements in it, but with more of a spy edge.
I felt like Scotland could do with a super-spy character seeing as James Bond uses Scotland for many elements of that character. So I came up with Duncan Grant, surely the first spy to ever come from the Isle of Skye and is a real black sheep within MI6.
There are two further titles to come in this series.
